This site is under the personal management of Dr Mike Simmons, a Consultant in Public Health Microbiology, employed by Public Health Wales and leading the clinical service to the Hywel Dda Health Board in West Wales. Any errors or omissions are entirely his responsibility. Similar responsibilities lie with any contributors acting in a professional capacity and contributing articles. While Dr Simmons is employed by Public Health Wales and while his aim is to further public health and wellbeing of the population primarily in his health board area as well as the wider Welsh population, his employers do not accept any responsibility for this website.
The site will often link to health bodies in Wales to pick up news and other important stories, including those on the Public Health Wales and Hywel Dda University Health Board websites.
This site offers a series of menu options across the top of the site as well as personal reflections from Dr Simmons and colleagues (using a Blog template). The site uses the WordPress engine and as such, anyone is free to comment. However, initial comments from contributers will always be approved before publication. Subsequent comments will normally be published direct. As this is a health related site and can raise emotive and sometimes stressful issues for people, it must be remembered that in responding to comments and questions, the authors will not be able to provide health related advice to individuals; you should always seek this from your own health professional contacts, be this GP’s, nurses, midwives, hospital doctors involved in your care. However, as this site develops, we hope it will help provide general advise that will be healpful to all our readers.
